Please tell us about yourself and your family.

I am 38 years old and have been teaching for the past two decades. I am originally from the Caribbean island of St. Kitts but migrated to Anguilla (another Caribbean island) in 2003. Despite not having my own kids, I play a motherly role for many of my students.

What drew you to the programme you are currently pursuing at UniAthena? Do you think it would help you achieve your career goals?

Since I have been a part of mid-level management at my school for the past five years, I felt it was time for me to formally learn about leadership and people management. Secondly, the program’s delivery mode was virtual and self-paced, which made it convenient. Additionally, it is affordable and is internationally accredited.

What would you like to learn next? What are your next career steps?

I have a keen interest in Project Management and Public Administration. My ambition is to become an entrepreneur and venture into the world of consultancy.

What do you think makes a great teacher?

In my estimation, a great teacher is one that teaches from the heart. An individual who is compassionate, understands, and meets the needs of the learner.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is to be a full-time production manager and project coordinator.

If you face a problem at work, what is the first thing you do?

I stand-off and review the situation and think of possible solutions to execute concerning the issue at hand.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your life? How did you tackle it?

My biggest challenge was going through a stillbirth in 2015. There is no tackling of such a traumatic life event; therefore, I allow myself the gift of time to heal, though it goes at a snail's pace.

If you could only change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would change my perfectionist attitude as it hinders many aspects of my life.

Mention one important lesson you have learned in life that made you what you are today.

Do not worry so much about people and their judgements about your life, as they really do not have that much impact on how your life turns out.
