Please tell us about yourself and your family.

My name is Flavio. Although I'm Italian, I live in the Netherlands with my wife and two children. I am a food expert and I am currently working as a sensory evaluator for a multinational food company.

What drew you to the programme you are studying at Athena? Do you think it will help you achieve your career goals?

I am very ambitious and aim to achieve a management position. I believe that getting an MBA will speed up the process and prepare me for a management position.

What would you like to learn next? What are your next career steps?

I will probably try to learn more about the supply chain, as I think it is quite relevant to my industry. My next steps will focus on growing to a management position internally within my company.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

I love to cook and play sports, although I do not have a lot of spare time.

Suppose you had to live alone on a deserted island for a month. What are the 3 things you will bring with you?

My outdoor knife, a rope, and a medical kit.

If you face a problem at work, what is the first thing you do?

I first analyse the situation and gather as much information as possible, and then I define a strategy to effectively address the problem and solve it.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your life? How did you tackle it?

I left my own country, work, family and friends for love. I was determined to succeed and create a new life here. Determination and resilience are what I use to tackle any problem.

If you could only change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

I would like to be less greedy with food. I just love food.

What did you want to become when you were a child?

I wanted to become a professional athlete.

What is the last book you read and the last movie you watched?

The 48 laws of Power was my last book. My last movie was "Wonder".

Who is the person you admire most and why?

As a famous person once said, " my hero is me in ten years". That will keep me with somebody to chase.
