Tell us about yourself and what made you choose your program at UniAthena? How do you think it will help you in your future career?

Nutrition and Public health advocacy have always been at the core of my professional and personal journey. This has led me to pursue the Master in Public Health (MPH) program at UniAthena, an opportunity that aligns perfectly with my vision of integrating education and healthcare to drive transformative change.

Choosing the MPH program at UniAthena was shaped by my desire for a flexible learning experience that offers global recognition and a comprehensive curriculum. This program is a stepping stone toward deepening my expertise in disease prevention and healthcare management.

What are you most excited to learn or explore next in your studies?

I am particularly excited to explore topics such as global health policies and epidemiology innovations. Additionally, I look forward to acquiring practical skills in healthcare management and policymaking, which are essential for implementing long-lasting changes in public health.

Could you outline your career goals you have in mind for after completing your current academic journey?

Upon completing my MPH, I aim to advocate for nutrition health policies that improve healthcare accessibility, and collaborate with international organizations to develop public health programs that focus on disease prevention awareness and community well-being.

How are you managing your studies along with the work in your personal life?

Balancing studies, work, and personal life is challenging, but I have managed to do so through strong time management, discipline, and prioritization. Structured schedules and dedicated study hours ensure that I stay on track while also making time for self-care to prevent burnout. My support system, comprising family and professional networks, plays a crucial role in keeping me motivated and focused.

Share a specific example of a challenging goal you set for yourself and successfully accomplished. What did you learn from this experience?

One of the most challenging goals I have accomplished was establishing a non-governmental organization (NGO) to support underprivileged students. Despite financial and logistical hurdles, I successfully organized mentorship programs, scholarships, and educational workshops. This taught me the value of resilience, strategic planning, and collaboration.

From your experiences so far, what personal qualities do you think are important for achieving success?

The qualities that have driven my success include resilience, adaptability, discipline, empathy, and leadership. A continuous learning mindset and the willingness to collaborate will also go a long way.

If you could recommend one book that you believe everyone should read, what would it be and why?

I recommend ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen R. Covey' as a must-read. This book offers invaluable insights into leadership, productivity, and personal growth, shaping a proactive mindset essential for success.

What is your dream job and what motivates you about it?

Ultimately, my dream job is to be a Public Health Educator and Food Specialist, leading my own wellness centre. I am motivated by the prospect of making a real difference in people’s lives through education, health nutrition, and public health initiatives.

What advice would you offer to professionals who are just starting their careers based on your own experiences?

My advice to aspiring professionals is to stay curious, develop a strong work ethic, build meaningful networks, embrace challenges, and remain purpose-driven.
