My name is Nasi T. Broh, and I currently serve as Head of Statistics at the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority. I have obtained and acquired several certificates and statistics and training. I wanted to enrol for UniAthena’s Master in Data Science program to develop the necessary credentials and actionable knowledge that will elevate my professional prospects.

I was excited to unlock actionable Data Science insights, which would not only help boost my workplace performance, but also help me position myself as a Data Science expert. 

Upon the successful completion of my Master's degree in Data Science, my primary career aspiration is to contribute significantly to Data Science, specifically focusing on fisheries and agricultural statistics.

One specific challenging goal I have set for myself  was to digitise the data collection scheme at the National Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority. All of our routine data collection schemes, including Industrial, Marine Artisanal and Scientific Observers data collection are automated and syncing to our cloud servers directly from the point of collection in real time. This was a milestone, and has empowered my division to develop real-time reports.

I believe that working hard and committing to your goals is crucial to staying on track.

I don’t readily read books like that, because I prefer statistical figures and data over words. 

A job as a Statistician is my dream. I went to school to be an Accountant, but when I got engaged with statistics 15 years ago, I never stopped playing with Data. Data Science is now my true passion.

Don’t be afraid to work hard and go the extra mile, but don’t underestimate working smart, either. Make sure you upskill, network, put yourself out there, chase new opportunities, follow your dreams and never give up.
