Please tell us about yourself.

I am Mudawi Alnour Bakhet, a front-line emergency and humanitarian worker since 2015 with WFP in North Darfur, Sudan. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. I am looking forward to strengthening my health and nutrition expertise with the goal of improving the health and nutrition practices of communities.

What drew you to the programme you are studying at UnIAthena? Do you think it would help you to release your career Goal?

I am passionate about career development. Yes, it looks like I can reach my career goal since I have the desire for learning and have enrolled in a recognized university with a wealth of resources.

What would you like to learn next?

At the moment, I am focusing on my current goal to earn a master’s degree and how to achieve it with an outstanding grade.

How has your academic journey prepared you for your career?

It has given me a firm grasp of the basic and advanced knowledge of nutrition and health, which is the first step towards my current position.

Tell us about a time you planned and accomplished a challenging goal.

In 2012, I was on top, leading a new initiative called Nutrition Impact and Positive Practices (NIPP), which includes behavior change, micro gardening, and developing a rich recipe from the local food available in the community. The initiative was successfully implemented and finally approved by the federal ministry of health in Sudan and incorporated into the Sudanese national nutrition guideline for treating and preventing malnutrition.

Considering all the people you've met in your field, what personal attributes do you believe are essential for success?

I think anyone who can build trust, share his experiences, encourage people to learn, and resolve conflicts is capable of leading a team to success.

Describe a time you stepped outside your comfort zone and demonstrated leadership skills.

In 2019, I was selected as a team leader for Smart Survey. I acknowledged the team roles and lead the team by example.

Which book would you recommend as a must-read for everyone, and why?

"Designing for Behaviour Change"  guides intensively on how to design behaviour change and what triggers positive behaviour adaptation.

What is your dream job, and why?

A leading position that allows me to share my knowledge and expertise with a wide geographical stretch to maximize the benefits and understand other perspectives.

Do you have any message for professionals just starting out in their careers?

Learning and Upskilling are your own responsibility.
