Please tell us about yourself, your family and your interests.

My name is Apet Aloysius Mpoh, I am from Menka in Widikum Subdivision of the North West Region of Cameroon, but I live in Buea with my wife and five children. I have three boys and two girls. 

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Corporate Security and am a Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP) and Member of the International Security Management Institute in London-UK (M.ISMI). I’m also a Certified Forensic Investigation Professional (CFIP). 

I’m presently working as a Field Security Associate (FSA) for the United Nations Department of Safety and Security (UNDSS). I have 17 years of demonstrated working experience in high-profile organizations in the Diplomatic sector, like the United States Embassy and Humanitarian sector, like the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC), and United Nations.

What drew you to the program you are studying at Athena? Is it living up to your expectations?

I decided to pursue an MBA because the knowledge will help me acquire the business managerial skills and aptitude to manage human resources, budgets, and finances for the proper execution of my functions.

What would you like to do after completing this course from Athena?

After acquiring the managerial skills and the MBA Diploma, I will aspire for greater responsibilities and promotion within my organization.

What do you think makes a great teacher?

A great teacher is one who devotes time to putting together materials for the understanding of students, with qualities like skills in communication, listening, collaboration, adaptability, empathy, and patience. Sound interaction with students and adoption of best practices in learning are additional attributes.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is to become a Security Adviser for the United Nations.

What is the most courageous thing you have ever done?

To climb up Mount Cameroon and back, which is about 1000km.

What is your best childhood memory?

Fishing in a small lake around my neighborhood when I was a child.

What is your idea of a perfect vacation?

A perfect vacation for me is to explore nature and its beautiful landscapes with the family.

Which fictional character (a character from a film, book, TV series, play) would you like to be friends with?

James Bond 007.

Mention one important lesson you have learned in life that made you what you are today.

Never give up in life, no matter the obstacles and hardship. Persist with steadfastness and determination. Success will always be there at the end of the tunnel.
