MBA 2020 Batch

Please tell us something about yourself, your family ?.

We are a family of 6. I am the eldest son. Last year, my father fell down the stairs, suffering a head injury and he is unable to walk now. Before that incident, he worked in sales and made a name for himself in the local market. My mother runs a small veterinary store and looks after the family. My eldest sister has M.Phil. in clinical Psychology and the other sister is a Veterinary doctor, both married. Next in line, I have done BS in Electrical Engineering but working in Logistics due to saturation in the market. My younger brother is in 9th grade at school.

Is the course you have enrolled for at Athena helping you to realise your career goals?

Yes, regardless of where my life takes me, I am sure this MBA will play a valuable role in making it better.

What would you like to learn next? What are your next career steps?

Data Science looks good as a career opportunity. It is new and in high demand. My engineering background and logistics experience would go hand in hand with Data Science. It is too soon to finalize but as my MBA proceeds, I will decide on my next step.

Describe one thing that makes you feel a sense of accomplishment. Explain why?

You can’t make every client happy and a lot of things get out of control which you cannot influence. Always giving my best regardless of results makes me feel accomplished.

What helps you to bounce back from setbacks?

Thinking of setbacks as a learning opportunity and trying to make the best out of the worst helps me bounce back.

What’s the best book you’ve ever read? Why did you like it?

“The Winner Stands Alone” by Paul Coelho
It is a must-read eye-opener. It beautifully presents a sketch of society without losing the thrill to keep you hooked.

If you could live anywhere, where would you live? Why?

Canada, I hear people there are nice. If a community consists of well behaved, caring, and polite people, it would be no less than a Utopia. I don’t think Canada would be perfect but much better than anywhere else.

Who is someone you consider a hero in your life? Why?

Everyone who is doing their mundane tasks of life every day with honesty and not doing wrong to anyone is a hero. This world is not an easy place to live and every day you spend is full of obstacles. If you have successfully completed a day doing no wrong and accomplishing your tasks, you are a hero who deserves a pat on the back.
