Leader in Action│Breaking Barriers│Inspiring Young Minds

"I originally came from Myanmar, and I became a legal migrant in Thailand after the military coup in my country. In my current role as a Program Manager in the Child Protection and Emergency Programs of a non-profit foundation in a cross-border area, I am leading initiatives that support vulnerable children and youth living in the Myanmar–Thailand cross-border region. My responsibility is to manage the operation of child protection and safeguarding programs in migrant areas, protecting them from risks associated with armed conflicts and natural disasters. My team provides comprehensive child protection services, including case management, psychosocial support, and the promotion of safeguarding practices across all interventions.
Our program emphasizes access to both formal and non-formal education, making sure that displaced and underprivileged children are not left behind. Throughout the program, we offer child-friendly spaces for emotional well-being and life skills development activities that contribute to building their resilience, self-confidence, and leadership potential among the young generation. I believe that it’s not only about surviving in their lives, but also about contributing meaningfully to their communities.
Working with children and young leaders, listening to their voices, understanding their dreams, helping them rebuild their anticipation in the midst of hardship, and building partnerships among young leaders — these are some aspects of my job.  My long-term vision is to become an inspiring woman leader and to foster future leaders, especially among marginalized and underserved communities. I believe that education supported by strong mentorship and community engagement is the key to long-lasting change in our society.
As we grow older, the role of children and teenagers — the future of our communities becomes even more important. By investing in their development today, we grow together and become stronger and more resilient tomorrow. That is what drives me to be one of the most effective contributors to our future generations."
"To perform my role to the best of my capacity, I began looking for learning opportunities. I found UniAthena’s programs to be both professionally rewarding and personally fulfilling. The flexibility of the Master in Public Administration program allowed me to continue my studies while managing fieldwork in complex emergency settings. It enhanced my understanding of strategic project management and organizational leadership, which has directly improved how I design, implement, and evaluate our programs. Thank you, UniAthena, for the opportunity to learn and grow.
