It is common for individuals to have an interest in a variety of things, and interests vary from person to person. My interest is more in volunteering, and I usually spend my weekends serving others.

Volunteering is a way of helping others and giving back to the community. It is the act of giving your time and ability to help someone in need. Volunteering goes beyond helping others; it benefits the volunteer too, something most people are unaware of. It is a great way for someone to interact with others in their community. It gives people the freedom to spend time together and create bonds while they are contributing to the greater good. Volunteering can have a variety of positive effects. From helping those in need, giving back to the community, working for worthwhile causes, and overall helping someone with their physical, mental and social well-being is the essence of volunteering.

Through volunteering, people develop strong bonds with the people they volunteer with. Volunteering is a great way to meet new people and find friends in life. Volunteering not only creates new bonds but also strengthens already-existing ones.

"Volunteering creates stronger bonds between friends, family, and coworkers." Through volunteering, volunteers develop a sense of belonging and become more social. With them being more social and civil with others, this allows them to create deeper bonds and friendships. People who volunteer can build better connections, more powerful attachments, and closer relationships with people when they work together. If someone feels that he or she needs to connect with people on a deeper level, volunteering is the way to go. Through volunteering, people develop new friendships while doing good for their communities and making new connections. Developing new friends affects people's lives in a very positive way.

Similarly, I started my volunteering journey in Singapore back in 2015 and had many amazing experiences during my volunteer services. I not only met new people and gained new experiences, but I also learned much more about the local people and the community. I have been volunteering for different fields like Singapore Sports, Rugby, Singapore Athletics Association, Singapore Swimming Association, Non-Profit Organizations including, Red Cross Singapore, Waterway Watch Society, Singapore Breast Cancer, Singapore Cancer Society, Singapore Writers Festival, National Library and more.

Community involvement never can get better than getting involved with locals within the community. Volunteering teaches you in all aspects, broadens your perspective, and hones your ability to deal with people from diverse backgrounds. My work as a volunteer continues, and I feel that I am spending my precious time doing something productive instead of sitting idle at home alone. I encourage every person around the world to start volunteering, help each other, and exchange cultural values.

My experience so far has been amazing. I value my time working at sports organizations, NGOs, and for the community. I firmly believe that without this volunteering experience, I may have missed out on something huge. In essence, I did give back to the community, but I received more in return. I would recommend everyone  getting out there in their community and getting involved. You never know where it will take you.
