 Please tell us about yourself.

My name is Sebongile Noka, and I'm 22 years old from Lesotho. I was pursuing CIMA but certain challenges prompted me to explore online courses. I am an ambitious person and very passionate about learning. 

 What drew you to the programme you are studying at UniAthena? Do you think it would help you realise your career goals? 

I chose the Business Communication course because it aligns well with my aspirations to become a professional Management Accountant. The course content relates directly to my career path & makes it easier for me to grasp and apply knowledge effectively.

What would you like to learn next?

Digital Marketing or anything related to Accounting.

What are your next career steps?

Currently, I am focused on preparing for my resits to advance to the next level. I am dedicating my time to study and practice questions.

How has your academic journey prepared you for your career?

Through my academic journey, I have gained invaluable knowledge and skills.

Tell us about a time you planned and accomplished a challenging goal.

Initially, I struggled with consistency when I started my current course. To overcome this, I devised a daily timetable to cover one topic each day. This disciplined approach helped me stay on track, exceed my planned topics, and successfully complete the course.

Considering all the people you've met in your field, what personal attributes do you believe are essential for success?

I believe that consistency, hard work, and patience are essential for achieving success.

Describe a time you stepped outside your comfort zone and demonstrated leadership skills.

As a class representative during my school days, I had to communicate with fellow students and represent them to our lecturers. This experience helped me develop leadership skills and taught me to step out of my comfort zone.

Which book would you recommend as a must-read for everyone, and why?

I'm not particularly into books outside of academic reading.

What is your dream job, and why?

My dream job is to be a professional Accountant because I am passionate about managing finances, working with large sums of money, and providing strategic advice to major organizations.

Do you have any message for professionals just starting out in their careers?

I would encourage them to be passionate, dedicated, and committed to continuous improvement. With perseverance and effort, you can achieve success.
