Please tell us about yourself and your family

I am a civil engineer; I graduated in 1991 from the University of Technology in  Baghdad. My current job is as a project manager of the new Erbil Food Distribution Centre project.

I got married in 1992, and I have two kids.

What drew you to the programme you are studying at UniAthena? Do you think it would help you realise your career goals?

The flexibility of the course, tuition fees, course materials, and accreditation drew me to study at UniAthena, and I think this will help me achieve my goals.

What would you like to learn next? What are your next career steps?

I would like to continue my studies to the doctorate level.

What do you think makes a great teacher?

Being honest, flexible, patient, good listener, professional, willing to share his own experiences to help the students build self-confidence, collaborate and guide them through the learning process.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is to start my own business and apply what I have learned during my professional life.

If you face a problem at work, what is the first thing you do?

I remain calm, be patient, stay positive, and think clearly about a suitable solution. I seek advice from my family or closest friends. Following that, I investigate the root cause of the problem in order to avoid the problem from happening again in the future.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your life? How did you tackle it?

The biggest challenge I have faced was my resignation from the governmental sector. But I have tackled it by motivating myself all the time to be able to lead more than one project at the same time in the private sector.

If you could only change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

It would be to learn the master degree earlier than this time.

What is the last book you read and the last movie you saw?

The last book I read was Project management revealed by IO4PM.

And the last movie I saw was The Expendables 2.

Mention one important lesson you have learned in life that made you what you are today.

Trusting and motivating myself, nothing is impossible.
