Tell us about yourself and what made you choose your program at UniAthena? How do you think it will help you in your future career?
I am a goal oriented person, who is continuously searching for ways to do better everyday. As an Operations Director, I understand the importance of effective Project Management in driving success in our organization. That's why I decided to pursue a Master's degree in Operations and Project Management at UniAthena. I believe this program will provide me with the knowledge and skills necessary to enhance our company’s operations activities, and develop a standardized and robust project management approach that will delight our stakeholders. I chose this program at UniAthena because of the University's strong reputation in the field and its focus on practical application of the principles of Operations and Project Management.
What are you most excited to learn or explore next in your studies?
I am excited to expand my skills and knowledge to become a more effective leader in my organisation. I am also looking forward to exploring different approaches to managing projects, particularly learning new theories and techniques in Project Management. I also need to learn more in the area of Operations Management, which will give me knowledge to make data-driven decisions and be able to optimize processes in our organisation.

I carefully plan my schedule and use tools like calendars and task lists to stay on track with my studies.
I prioritize my tasks and focus on the most important activities first.
My schedules are flexible and I can always adjust to accommodate work commitments.
Share a specific example of a challenging goal you set for yourself and successfully accomplished. What did you learn from this experience?
I set for myself a goal to complete my first degree, BBA with UNISA, while I was also working full time. I was able to successfully complete the program. I learned the importance of discipline while pursuing the qualification.
From your experiences so far, what personal qualities do you think are important for achieving success?
I believe that Resilience, or being able to bounce back from failure and continue working towards the goal, is important. Equally crucial is Determination, or being able to stay committed to the goal even when faced with setbacks. Adaptability, or the ability to adjust the changing circumstances and adjust your approach as needed, is also needed.
Tell us about a time when you stepped outside your comfort zone to take on a leadership role. What was the outcome?
I was asked to lead a major project at a church in our federation, though I was hesitant at first because I was not very familiar with the scope. However, I decided to take the challenge. I gained more experience and skills and developed confidence as a leader and received compliments for being able to motivate the team to achieve our goals.
If you could recommend one book that you believe everyone should read, what would it be and why?
I recommend "Leaders Eat Last" by Simon Sinek. This book explores more about servant leadership and emphasises the importance of prioritising the well being of their team members.
What is your dream job and what motivates you about it?
My dream job is to be the Managing Director, leading the company towards fulfilling its vision and mission.
What advice would you offer to professionals who are just starting their careers based on your own experiences?
My advice to professionals who are just starting their career journey is to set goals, continue to learn and grow, build a strong network, and to stay positive and proactive.
