Please tell us something about yourself and your family.

I am Wisdom Bruce Ahianyo, married for 8 years with two kids, a boy and a girl. My wife Epiphany is a business woman.

I am the second child of my parents with three brothers and three sisters. My mum is a trader and all my siblings have completed tertiary institutions in the same country, Ghana. We come from the Volta Region of Ghana, where the local language is Ewe.

Is the course you have enrolled for at Athena helping you to realize your career goals?

I cannot evaluate as I have been here for a short time which of course has been very good. The faculty and the team welcomed me and you could see everyone is just up to the task. I really love it and always want to be part of this great institution. I know my selection of Athena will not be in vain.

What would you like to learn next? What are your next career steps?

In fact, I would love to choose Civil Engineering as my next career option. Since there is no such program in the institution, I will seek advice for choosing a very challenging program which would make me a leader in every organization I find myself in.

Describe one thing that makes you feel a sense of accomplishment. Explain why.

Honestly, when I do something I am afraid to do, I feel a sense of accomplishment. I love to do what I haven’t done before and this gives me a sense of fulfilment

What helps you to bounce back from setbacks?

By reading motivational books dealing with setbacks or listening to motivational speakers.
In addition, by exercising regularly since I see setbacks as temporary things. This helps me do what I love to do the most.

What’s the best book you’ve ever read? Why did you like it?

Have read a lot of books but ‘The Power of Self-confidence’ has been one book I read daily. The book was written by Brian Tracy. It gives me the power to do things differently in every organization I find myself in.

If you could live anywhere, where would you live? Why?

Britain, this has been my dream from childhood. I love the people. I really feel they are like us, here in Ghana.

Who is someone you consider a hero in your life? Why?

Someone who has attained what nobody has done. It makes me feel that there is greatness in the person and I would love to be like him some day.
