Please tell us about yourself, your family and your interests.

My name is Raghad Alshibi and I am from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), my nationality is Palestinian. I was born in Riyadh, the capital city of KSA. Currently, I live with my family who are high achievers. Although my father is a retired chief executive officer and my mother is a housewife, my elder siblings have all undertaken tertiary study in medicine, engineering, business and pharmacy. I was successful in academics and extracurricular activities. I have been honored as the top student by Princess Hessa Al Shalan for excelling in studies. I am an award-winning student in many subjects and a certified member of the aggregate system. I have attended many workshops on campus and abroad in Spain, Vietnam and other countries.

What drew you to the program you are studying at Athena? Is it living up to your expectations?

I am studying MBA in General Management and the program is living up to my expectations.

What would you like to do after completing this course from Athena?

I am planning to go for Ph.D. studies in the field of Science.

What do you think makes a great teacher?

I believe enthusiasm, strong communication skills, collaborative and adaptive skills are necessary qualities in a great teacher. Moreover, teachers who show empathy, have patience, and are engaging are role models.

What’s your dream job?

I am dreaming of working as project manager of mega projects like my father as well as managing my design office. In addition, I want to teach and share knowledge by being a doctor in an academic sector in the field of science.

What is the most courageous thing you have ever done?

My father worked hard to illustrate his creativity which leveraged the government and the country. This made me always curious about how to achieve his potential, especially after my sister followed in his footsteps by becoming an interior designer.

What is your best childhood memory?

I was delighted when my father as a Civil Engineer became part of a project to expand the Grand Mosque of Al Madinah Al Munawwarah. I was 14 years old, and that’s still my best childhood memory.

What is your idea of a perfect vacation?

Sydney is the perfect place for me because my family lives there. Also, there's the Opera house in Sydney, Australia’s iconic symbol, with its white-tiled sails along the harbor at Bennelong Point. The multi-venue performing arts center and UNESCO World Heritage Site not only offers opera performances, but it frequently hosts all types of concerts and plays, and visitors can explore it by taking a guided backstage tour or dining in one of its restaurants. The facility is adjacent to the Royal Botanic Gardens, and Sydney is also home to the world-famous Bondi Beach, one of Australia’s top beaches, renowned for its pristine sands and clean waters. The Sydney Harbour Bridge, is another iconic landmark, as is the city’s multitude of museums and art galleries.

Which fictional character (a character from a film, book, TV series, play) would you like to be friends with?

Definitely Elon Musk! His book written by Ashlee Vance is one of the most remarkable engineering books. I personally enjoyed reading it for both business and pleasure.
