Please tell us about yourself and your family

Hi, I’m Adam, I currently work as a project coordinator in Ajman for a hydrographic survey company that specialises in providing survey services for marine construction and pipelines.

What drew you to the programme you are studying at UniAthena? Do you think it would help you realise your career goals?

I was trying to learn more about Blockchain and was searching for a formal degree related to it. I found out about UniAthena’s offering and I joined in for the program.

Completing this program will help me demonstrate that I possess a considerable background in blockchain, and this will be an advantage for me if I apply for any web3-related jobs in the future.

What would you like to learn next? What are your next career steps?

As of now I’m really interested in upskilling on topics relevant to my career so it would help me climb the corporate ladder. But I will also be taking some time to reflect on whether the sector that I'm currently working in is the right industry for me. I want to make sure I'm on the right path and that I'm truly passionate about what I'm doing.

What do you think makes a great teacher?

A good teacher is someone who can explain concepts in layman’s terms, address doubts as needed, and remain patient when asked to explain the same concepts repeatedly.

What’s your dream job?

I don't have a specific dream job in mind, but I'm really drawn to the Web3 industry and I'm looking for a company that offers a great work-life balance and opportunities for growth.

If you face a problem at work, what is the first thing you do?

I would first analyze the problem to assess its magnitude and then explore different ways to solve it within a suitable time period. If the issue requires a quick resolution, I will prioritize finding an immediate solution.
If I’m unable to fix the problem myself, I would escalate it to my team. Once resolved, I would create a framework for others to follow, ensuring similar issues can be addressed efficiently in the future.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your life? How did you tackle it?

There were problems that I faced in life, both personally and professionally. A general lesson I have taken from these experiences is to be as authentic as possible. Be yourself, pray regularly, do not prioritise work over your health and learn to say no to people when needed.

What is the last book you read and the last movie you saw?

The last book that I read was "11 Rules for Life" by Chetan Bhagat, and the movie that I watched was "Iron Claw"."

Mention one important lesson you have learned in life that made you what you are today.

Make as many memories as possible, be carefree, and take the big leap. Many limit themselves due to uncertainty, but trying and failing is far better than not trying at all. Stay updated with whatever resources you have. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what you do in the corporate world. It's all about how you can develop yourself in terms of attaining knowledge and skills and making yourself relevant in this constantly changing world of trends and practices.
