Please tell us about yourself, your family and your interests.

I am a young social entrepreneur with a Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance. We are four brothers in the family. I was born on June 6, 1990, to a poor but very hard-working family. I lost my father in 2010 and almost dropped out of school. I know what it means to be poor and how wonderful it is to live above the poverty line. The relentless efforts of our parents to see us through school made me understand that poor people are the world’s greatest entrepreneurs because every day, they must innovate to survive. I am therefore very much concerned about finding innovative solutions to real-world economic, socio-cultural and political problems.

What drew you to the program you are studying at Athena? Is it living up to your expectations?

The course outline caught my attention and the fact that the course will teach me how to generate new ideas, identify opportunities that will benefit the social bonds with what I am presently doing. I really want to grow immensely in this field.

What will you like to do after completing this course from Athena?

I want to continue working with our community credit union, our community development association, Alamankon farmers co-operative society, and various common initiative groups in Cameroon.

What do you think makes a great teacher?

A great teacher is one with the ability to inspire his students to achieve their goals. A great teacher believes that learning never ends, and wants the students to be better than him.

What’s your dream job?

My dream job is to be a Social entrepreneur/ Microfinance consultant.

What’s the most courageous thing you have ever done?

Starting a credit union in my community with just $73 on November 29, 2016, is the most courageous thing I have ever done.

What is your best childhood memory?

Being the lead actor in most of our Sunday school Bible plays, Sunday school song conductor, Sunday school teacher, and YP Leader.

What is your idea of a perfect vacation?

A perfect vacation is one that includes perfect people, plans and destinations. The plan must be executed on time with no rescheduling.

Which famous character would you like to be friends with?

There are quite a few--Mohammad Yunus of Bangladesh, winner of the Nobel Peace Prize 2006, John Calvin Maxwell, an American author, speaker and pastor and Dr. Michael Hudson of the Credit Union strategy.com.

Mention one important lesson you have learned in life that made you what you are today.

You do not need capital to start a business. What you need is honesty, integrity, accountability, and most importantly, an innovative solution to a real-world problem.
