My Name is Aden Harun Abdi and I am from Kenya. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration  degree with a specialty in Entrepreneurship from Kenya Methodist University. I graduated in the year 2013. I also have a Postgraduate Certificate in Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) from Inoorero University in partnership with ILO and Danish Embassy Nairobi. I have 15 years of work experience in Entrepreneurship, Finance and humanitarian interventions.  

I am enjoying the online teaching platform provided by Athena Global Education and the tasks assigned to me by my tutor. The online video clips are very simple to understand, precise and explicit in nature. One thing I have really admired is the availability of my Tutor, Mr Nithin who selflessly gave me a lot of technical support. Additionally, Sophie, Bob and Claire (-Personal Student Experience and Engagement Officers) have religiously supported me in various administrative issues, linkage to the online platform and general guidance.  

The sudden shift to digital teaching is the way to go in modern society where technology has advanced and the need for education has increased significantly. I have quickly adapted to the new situation and requirements of assigned tasks. The assignments have helped me hone many skills including entrepreneurial ones to develop leadership abilities with improved communication, research and problem-solving skills.  A majority of people are experiencing tough times under the Covid-19 pandemic with businesses closing down and many employees losing their source of income. The skills gained from this course will help me in my career to strategize on better business opportunities, advise various agencies and authorities such as humanitarian organizations, county and national governments on how to utilize the resources at their disposal for better livelihood of the citizens.

There are concerns in the marketplace about risks, returns, and uncertainties; it is my hope that by the end of the course, I can recognize the opportunities and strengths that I possess in order to combat various challenges to innovations as well as help shape current and future operations and develop strategic goals. I expect that by the end of the program I would be able to develop logical thinking skills that will enable me to identify and evaluate entrepreneurial opportunities and develop an understanding of the techniques that every innovative organization and entrepreneur requires to succeed. These will be brought to effect on learning the tools and concepts that assist in successfully testing and launching innovative products in the marketplace.
