The Man Who Knew Infinity is a story of world-renowned mathematician Ramanujan. He was a self-taught mathematical genius who made remarkable contributions to the field of mathematics in the early 20th century. His story is so inspiring and fascinating that it was made into a movie called The Man Who Knew Infinity, starring Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons.

Lacking a formal education in mathematics, Ramanujan was born into a low-income household in India. He acquired or borrowed books and notebooks with his little earnings, from which he learned. He created his procedures and equations, some of which at the time were unknown to mathematicians in the West. His curiosity about mathematics sprang from his natural intuition and love of numbers.

He sent letters to several well-known mathematicians to gain acceptance and assistance for his study. Believing him to be a lunatic or a phony, the majority of them rejected or disregarded him. However, a Cambridge University professor named G.H. Hardy saw something unique in Ramanujan's correspondence. He extended an invitation to collaborate with him and other famous mathematicians in England. Together, they discovered groundbreaking mathematical ideas and pushed the boundaries of number theory, pioneering the field of partition theory with Ramanujan's exceptional work on partition functions.

Throughout his voyage, Ramanujan encountered numerous obstacles and hardships. He had to overcome racism and prejudice in addition to linguistic and cultural obstacles. In addition, he was lonely, had bad health, and missed his family and his native country. However, he never lost interest in mathematics. He wrote numerous publications on subjects like infinite series, partitions, prime numbers, modular forms, and theta functions. He worked with Hardy and other colleagues on these projects. Additionally, he made discoveries that were subsequently linked to cryptography, physics, computer science, and other disciplines. Srinivas Ramanujam's ordination as a Fellow of the Royal Society demonstrates his distinguished mental ability and profound impact on the world of mathematics.

At the age of 32, Ramanujan passed away, leaving behind a legacy of inventive and brilliant mathematics. Known as one of the greatest mathematicians of all time, his contributions both motivate and confound scientists to this day. His life narrative serves as an example of the inventiveness and tenacity of the human spirit. His life is a resounding example of perseverance in the face of adversity, a testament to perseverance, unflagging commitment, and unmatched intellectual acumen. Ramanujan's contributions have left an indelible mark on the field of mathematics, inspiring mathematicians and scholars across borders to explore the uncharted territories of this vast domain.

It is a captivating and moving film that will make you appreciate the beauty and mystery of mathematics. Dev Patel and Jeremy Irons did an excellent job delivering the story of Ramanujan.

Apart from the story line, the background score is quite soothing and mesmerizing. It deeply resonates with the audience and echoes the emotion portrayed in every scene. Screenplay had been done well considering the era the movie was to deliver.

A must-watch biopic movie of a genius who was a natural gem, gone too soon.
