We are extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Mervyn Emmanuel as Head of Academic Delivery and Student Engagement, Athena Global Education.

Dr Mervyn Emmanuel brings to Athena a wealth of experience as well as both visionary and operational strengths. He is a native South African, who holds a PHD in Educational Psychology with 20 years of teaching experience inclusive of counselling, training and formulating of educational programs for universities and colleges of higher education. During his long and distinguished career, Dr Emmanuel created, facilitated and delivered specialized training in Educational Psychology, Organizational Behaviorism and Business Management Skills. He has conducted conferences in more than 25 countries, and still continues to network with people across all sectors to bring about transformation in the field of education.

Dr Emmanuel came to the United Arab Emirates 15 years ago where he excelled in areas of Curriculum Development at Al Wahda Private School that earned him recognition for his expertise and dedicated service. He also assisted in formulating management programs for Emirates Institute of Banking. Due to his extensive experience, he rose to become the Educational Advisor to the ex-President of Ghana, Mr. John Mahama.

Dr Emmanuel is in the process of completing his book entitled “Breakdown to Breakthrough” which provides a psychological edge on how to deal with issues that affect our mind. His professional career outside academics includes partnering with organizations in South Africa and the United States of America with the aim of promoting Social Transformation. He derives immense joy in helping people to discover their purpose in life. For this reason, he aspires daily to motivate, inspire, enlighten, encourage, counsel and educate people to realize their potential and how they can harness their gifts and talents to bring about positive change, ultimately fulfilling their destiny.
