My major challenge has been balancing my school work with my job. After earning my Executive Diploma in Accounting, I was also accepted to the postgraduate diploma in accounting (PDGA/CTA), which I couldn't qualify for before. I had an absolutely amazing first-class experience at UniAthena for my Postgraduate Certificate in Machine Learning. I found the study material, the video lectures and further reading interesting and engaging. The academic staff was also friendly and supportive and they were always quick to answer my questions by email which I liked. Their IT team was good at getting back to me when I had this issue logging into the website where I had to reset the password endlessly, but they fixed it within a short span of time. That was nice. The assignments had a very practical and business-minded focus to them, for instance, one of the questions asked was how you would apply AI to improve a company's operational efficiency. This is great because it really helps to engage your thinking about how your studies are connected to your future career or job role. 

The only downside point was some of the quiz questions. They could perhaps do with a little revamping. However, the quiz questions were focused on continually improving and testing your understanding so if you complete them, you get a very good grasp of the course. You can work at your own pace which means that there is no pressure and you can learn a lot in a short space of time which fits into your hectic schedule. There are concerns in the marketplace about risks, returns, and uncertainties; it is my hope that by the end of the course, I can recognize the opportunities and strengths that I possess in order to combat various challenges to innovations as well as help shape current and future operations and develop strategic goals. I expect that by the end of the program I would be able to develop logical thinking skills that will enable me to identify and evaluate entrepreneurial opportunities and develop an understanding of the techniques that every innovative organization and entrepreneur requires to succeed. These will be brought to effect on learning the tools and concepts that assist in successfully testing and launching innovative products in the marketplace.

I have always aspired to enhance my knowledge base, be it in my profession, or in social, psychological, economic, spiritual or environmental issues. I believe in lifelong learning. That is why I decided to join Uniathena’s Master of International Business Administration program, even though I am a retired person. I don’t believe that age hinders learning and acquiring novel knowledge, competencies and skills. The program was in sync with my expectations. I can learn at my own time and pace. The way the lessons and assignments are designed contribute to critical thinking which make one ready for future learning and analysis of any situation. In some universities, the focus is on learning by rote. I had joined such universities for their Master’s program in the past but I withdrew, disappointed. As I am a freelance Management Consultant, the knowledge and skill I acquired in Athena will help me be to be more knowledgeable and effective in my consultancy endeavors.

I am a professional with 10 years of experience and I decided to add more academic credentials to my career.
