The first batch of the Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) programme for Summer 2020-21 commences on September 4, 2020.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Andrew Hambler, Programme Director, DBA, says, “The Westford DBA programme is an innovative doctoral programme rooted in the practical experience of business management. It allows ambitious professionals to complete a doctoral programme in a concentrated timescale, developing deep skills in management research very quickly and becoming recognised experts in their fields. In the process, doctoral candidates will also benefit from networking with a very impressive group of fellow researchers coming from a very diverse range of professional backgrounds and nationalities. I would strongly recommend the programme to those who feel they are ready for a demanding but very exciting intellectual challenge.”

There is a great deal of enthusiasm on the part of the students who have enrolled for the programme. Audrey Tagurarira Robertson from Nigeria, partner with a law firm and Chief Executive Officer and shareholder of a company that manages private hospitals, and in the process of opening her own law firm, says, “I joined DBA to enhance my research and management skills for the betterment of the company’s or firm’s overall performance”.

Olugbemiga Moses Olagoke, FCA, Managing Partner, Olugbenga Fabunmi &Co (Chartered Accountants), Nigeria, explains why he enrolled for DBA degree at Athena, “The course programme does not interfere with my work schedule and their payment structure strategically fits into my cash flow. Partnering with AGE is my perfect choice.”

Haytham from UAE, another DBA student, says, “The Doctorate of Business Administration degree is a way of advancing my academic skills and knowledge, and applying them to operational excellence within the aviation industry.I am confident that this programme will help me in my future career.”

Pieter Kruger,Chief Operating Officer,Momentum Metropolitan Namibia,Windhoek, Namibia, is very positive about the DBA programme. In his words, “2020 was supposed to be a year of excitement and new things. A little virus came and turned our world upside down. In my search to continue with my studies, I came across the DBA programme which immediately caught my eye. It is presented online in partnership with a top ranking European university and, in these uncertain times, allowed me to study from the comfort of my home in Africa. My expectations from DBA is to learn in a global environment and to see how we can apply this knowledge to our local markets. The Covid-19 pandemic is challenging all business models worldwide and it is now a time to be innovative in the new normal. I am extremely excited to be part of this programme and looking forward to working with our professors and fellow students to learn and enhance my knowledge.”

We wish our students a fruitful learning experience at UniAthena which would make them experts in their domain.
